Strong As a Mother
Strong As a Mother
There’s a quiet kind of strength in motherhood—one that doesn’t get medals or standing ovations, but one that carries the weight of the world on weary shoulders. It’s found in the middle-of-the-night wake-up's that evolve from newborn feedings to comforting a sick child or easing a restless mind after a hard day. It’s in the way we stretch ourselves thin, not for glory, but for love.
It’s the strength to pour a cup of coffee and power through exhaustion. To pack lunches while mentally running through a to-do list a mile long. To remember every permission slip, spirit day theme, and practice schedule, all while trying to find five minutes to eat something other than the crusts of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
It’s the strength to juggle a career, a home, a family—and somehow, still attempt self-care. To squeeze in a workout between school drop-offs and meetings, to throw on a touch of makeup because it makes you feel human, to swap sweatpants for jeans even though leggings would be easier.
It’s the unseen moments that make up the foundation of a mother’s love. The grocery store runs to find the one brand of crackers they’ll actually eat. The emergency dash to school with a forgotten project. The endless loads of laundry, because somehow, even with drawers full of clothes, nothing is ever clean when they need it.
It’s the ache of wondering if we’re doing enough, if we’re getting it right, if they’ll remember the love more than the chaos. It’s the whispered pep talks in the mirror, the deep breaths before handling another meltdown, the tears wiped away before anyone sees.
Being strong as a mother isn’t about perfection. It’s about resilience. It’s about love so deep it pushes past exhaustion, past self-doubt, past the days that feel impossible. It’s about showing up, over and over again, even when no one is watching.
To every mother out there—whether you're in the trenches of toddler tantrums, navigating school schedules, or guiding teenagers into adulthood—your strength is seen, even in the unseen moments. And it is extraordinary. 💕
With love,
Brittany
